Holiday Outfit Ideas + Giveaway Winner!

I’m sure many of you have Christmas parties, family dinners and other festive events coming soon, so here are some great pieces to complete your holiday look!

I picked up this cropped lace top at Forever 21 (comes in black too), and if you pair it with a high-waisted skirt, you won’t be showing too much skin!

I also have this great turtleneck dress, which is super cozy and perfect for more casual gatherings.

I grabbed this skirt at Nordstrom last week, and it’s the perfect length on my 5ft6 frame, and super versatile (and I’ll be wearing it year-round!

 

I wanted flats to wear when entertaining at home, and picked up this patent pair for 50% off. I love the gold detail on the toe!

In terms of jewelry, if you’re off to somewhere fancy, this headband would be so amazing. I would wear it on the back of my head, with loose curls.

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE these earrings from Canadian designer Jenny Bird. They can be worn 4 ways and are just the right amount of fancy. You can pick up a pair at viens avec moi in Ottawa.

What I Wore Wednesdays

I got a lot of questions about the outfit I wore on CTV Morning Live a few weeks ago, so I wanted to share all the details with you!

The girls at Vincent, one of the shops featured in the segment, were nice enough to dress me, and I couldn’t be happier with what they chose. If you haven’t checked out this fabulous store on Preston Street, I encourage you to go and meet Amanda and Angie, the incredible sisters behind this gem in the city. The skirt and top featured are by designers exclusive to their store.

They also dressed the model in the white blazer, below. Again, everything shown is exclusive to their store.

Friday Favourites!

It’s finally here, SWEATER WEATHER! Am I the only one who is insanely excited about this!? It’s also my 5-year wedding anniversary today, so I have some fun celebrations planned for this weekend with my wonderful husband.

Here is what I’m loving this week.

1- I want to thank everyone for all their kind words on my TV appearance this week,I definitely didn’t expect that! If you missed it, you can watch it here. And check back next week, I’ll be telling you about all the fashion you saw on the show, including my outfit!

2- If you’re in the market for some gorgeous fall pieces, there are two pop-up sales going on in the city from the top consignment stores. Alfred & Co. has popped up in one of the city’s most beautiful stores, and Bayshore Shopping Centre is home to the other pop-up. Check them out!

3- my favourite dress now comes in a beautiful burgundy colour. I ordered it last night, can’t wait to wear it with brown booties and tons of gold jewelry.

4- I love that this store is hosting Fashion Week in Ottawa! I plan on checking out some of the shows.

5- Just heard about this amazing fundraiser taking place at one of the city’s top restaurants!

Friday Favourites (spoiler: I’m gonna be on TV!)

Happy Friday!

Well, my first “shop my closet” post was super successful, so I will for sure be posting more items next week, including lots of shoes!

Here are my favourite things this week:

1- I suggest you record CTV Morning Live on Tuesday morning (around 9:15am) because I will be featured in a segment, chatting about fall fashion at some of Ottawa’s best stores. How fun is that!

2- BIG MAKEUP NEWS! Ottawa is now selling NYX Cosmetics (my favourite drugstore brand) at Rexall stores across the city! I’ll be sure to write about my favourite products from the brand next week so you know what to stock up on (hint: I love their Butter Glosses!)

3- My Instagram account is bombarded with pics of fashion bloggers at New York Fashion Week, so I found this article super interesting about one blogger’s experience and what it’s really like.

4- I am definitely making this salad next week, looks delicious!

5- You HAVE to visit this fashion truck (yes, you read that right!) at Lansdowne Park, they will be there until Sunday and you don’t need a ticket to the City Folk Festival to check them out! I picked up the most beautiful sweater when they were at Bluesfest, I can’t wait to see what they have now!
